Letbird Application Terms of Use

Welcome to the Letbird mobile application and the website associated with it. These Terms of Use (“Agreement”) set forth the legal terms and conditions between Letbird management (“We,” “Us,” “Our,” or the “Company”) and you, the valued user who downloads, installs, or uses the Application (“User” or “You”).

Introduction

By using the Application, you represent that you have read, understood, and agreed to all the terms contained in this Agreement. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the Application and remove it from your device.

1. Description of the Service

Letbird is a social matching platform that enables users to exchange letters with one another based on their interests, preferences, age ranges, and selected criteria.

Within the Application:

  • Users can create profiles,
  • Send and receive letters,
  • Select birds and envelopes,
  • Edit profile information,
  • Update interests,
  • Make in-app purchases,
  • Communicate with other users in writing.

Birds and Branches

In the Application, “Birds” represent sending letters, while “Branches” represent receiving letters. Users can track incoming, in-transit, and sent letters.

Bird Features

Virtual birds within the Application have various dynamic characteristics and details, such as speed, capacity, probability of getting lost, and waiting time.

Matching Criteria

Users may send letters and match with others based on their own preferences, including gender, age range, and other filters.

Marketplace and Profile

Users may purchase bird and envelope options from the Marketplace section; update their photo, username, location, and interests from the Profile section; manage account settings; or contact the support team.

Letbird does not approve, verify, or guarantee the content of communications between users.

2. Account Creation and Membership

You must create a user account to use the Application. The following sign-in methods are supported:

  • Sign in with Apple
  • Sign in with Google
  • Register with Email

The information you provide when creating an account must be accurate, current, and complete.

Registration and Social Logins

To use the Application, you must sign in via Google, Apple, or Email. During registration, information such as your first name, last name, gender, photo, and email address is collected and securely stored in our database.

Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority under the laws of your country) to use the Application.

Account Responsibility

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials (Apple ID, Google ID, or password). You are directly responsible for all activities conducted under your account.

A user may create an account only on their own behalf. Creating an account on behalf of another person is prohibited.

3. Information Collected

For the purpose of providing Letbird services, the following information may be processed:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address
  • Profile photo
  • Gender information
  • User identifiers (Google ID, Apple ID, etc.)
  • Interests
  • Profile preferences
  • Application usage data
  • Analytics and performance data

Real-Time Location Information

Letbird uses your device's current location information to provide the most suitable matches. Location information is used only to determine the user's country and city. Precise location data is not continuously tracked or stored.

4. User Conduct Rules

Users agree not to engage in the following behaviors:

  • Sharing content containing insults, threats, hate speech, or discrimination,
  • Harassment or bullying,
  • Promoting illegal activities,
  • Impersonating another person,
  • Sending spam or unsolicited messages,
  • Sharing obscene, pornographic, or inappropriate content,
  • Sharing other people's personal information without permission,
  • Attempting to breach the security of the Application,
  • Using automated tools or bots to manipulate the system.

Letbird reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

5. User Content

Users are responsible for the letters, profile descriptions, photos, and other content they create.

Letbird does not own user content. However, users grant permission for their content to be processed, stored, and displayed for the purpose of providing the service.

Letbird reserves the right to remove content that violates these Terms of Use.

6. Matches and Communication

Letbird provides users with the opportunity to match and exchange letters. No user is guaranteed:

  • A match,
  • A response,
  • Continuous communication,
  • Any specific outcome.

Users are responsible for the communications they engage in with other users and for the consequences of those communications.

7. In-App Purchases

Letbird may offer various digital products, features, or advantages through in-app purchases. All payments are processed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Purchases are subject to the terms of the respective stores. Except where required by applicable law, no refund guarantee is provided for purchased digital content.

Purchase Dynamics

Birds, envelopes, and other content available in the Letbird Marketplace are purchased using the official In-App Purchase infrastructures of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Fees and Refunds

Prices of purchased virtual items are subject to the rules determined by Apple and Google. Under platform rules, consumed virtual items (e.g., boosts, special envelopes, etc.) are generally non-refundable. Official refund policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store apply to refund processes.

Ownership

Purchased virtual items grant the User only a license to use them within the Application; such items have no real-world monetary value, transferability, or ownership rights.

8. Advertisements

To support its free service model and ensure the sustainability of the Application, Letbird may display third-party advertisements within the Application. Anonymous advertising identifiers may be used to provide a personalized advertising experience. Letbird shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from advertising content.

Third-party advertising services may be used within the Application. By using the Application, users acknowledge that advertising content may be displayed. Advertising providers may operate under their own privacy policies and terms of use.

9. Usage Rules and Principles of Conduct

Users agree to comply with the following rules when using Letbird:

  • No content that is immoral, obscene, threatening, insulting, racist, or illegal may be shared in letters or profile information.
  • Harassing other users, sending spam (unsolicited bulk messages), or engaging in fraudulent activities is strictly prohibited.
  • Activities that damage the technical infrastructure of the Application, involve reverse engineering, or manipulate the system are prohibited.
  • Sanctions: If these rules are violated, Letbird management reserves the right to temporarily or permanently suspend the User's account, reset marketplace balances, or completely delete the account.

The Letbird application, its design, software, logos, visuals, bird characters, envelope designs, and all other content are protected under applicable intellectual property laws. Without explicit written permission, they may not be:

  • Copied,
  • Reproduced,
  • Distributed,
  • Reverse engineered.

10. Analytics and Service Providers

Letbird may use third-party services to improve service quality. These may include:

  • Firebase Analytics
  • Firebase Authentication
  • Firebase Crashlytics
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging

These services may process data to measure application performance, ensure security, and improve the user experience.

11. Account Termination

Users may delete their account or stop using the Application at any time. Letbird may suspend or terminate an account in the following cases:

  • Violation of these Terms of Use,
  • Illegal activities,
  • Security risks,
  • Use of fake accounts,
  • Behavior that endangers the safety of other users.

Letbird reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue Application features or the service entirely without prior notice. Users may delete their accounts and terminate this Agreement at any time via Profile > Account Settings. When an account is deleted, personal data in our database will be deleted or anonymized in accordance with applicable laws.

12. Limitation of Liability

Letbird services are provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, Letbird shall not be liable for:

  • Service interruptions,
  • Data loss,
  • Disputes between users,
  • Problems arising from third-party services,
  • User-generated content.

13. Changes

Letbird reserves the right to update these Terms of Use at any time. Updated terms become effective on the date they are published through the Application or website.
